2010 Summer Program FAQs

Where abouts on the University Campus will my course be located?

Most courses (as well as tea breaks) will be based in buildings 22, 24 and 26 in the Kingsley Precinct. The exceptions are 'Data Analysis using SAS' and 'Introduction to Nvivo', which will be located in building 116 and 'Introduction to SEM using LISREL' and 'Applied Statistical Procedures', which will be in building 35.

Where do I go on Day 1?

On the Monday morning of each week, a Program Welcome will take place in the Manning Clarke Building (26) at 9am. From here you will be introduced to your instructor and guided to your classroom/lab. A general email will be sent out in late December with more details.

What is the timetable?

Each day runs from 9am to 5pm with an hour for lunch and two half hour tea breaks. The tea breaks are catered for but not lunch. On Friday many classes finish by mid afternoon, allowing for interstate travel, but this is often up to the instructor and/or the participants.

Is there a program dinner?

No, not this year. However there will be a Cocktail Reception on ampus on each Monday Evening at the completion of Day 1.

Will I have computer access?

Yes, most of the campus is covered by the ANU wireless network, which you will have access to. There will also be computers available during breaks.

What should I bring to my course?

In many cases, it is appropriate for you to bring any data that you are working on. If you have specific queries related to this, first check the course description on the course booking page. If nothing is mentioned, email your instructor (addresses are also available on the booking page). Course notes are provided for the majority of courses.
