About ACSPRI's Courses

ACSPRI programs are designed to cater for fundamental, changing and emerging research strategies, and to serve a wide variety of needs for training and professional development within the academic, public and private sectors. Our courses cater not only for researchers in the social and political sciences, but also in areas such as behavioural, health and medical sciences, policy research, education, economics, epidemiology, law, management, marketing, public relations and human resource management.

Each program is run during the host university's vacation period and/or the AVCC Common Week.

Our largest and longest-running program (first run in 1984) is our two-week Summer Program (January), currently hosted by the Australian National University in Canberra.

The majority of the courses offered at ANU are also offered at our two-week Winter Program (June/July) at the University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus.

The Melbourne-based Spring Program is our newest program. It has been hosted by Swinburne University of Technology in recent years but will be held at Monash University in 2010. The Spring Program runs for just one week in September/October and features many of our more popular courses.

Courses at each of our programs range from those that offer a basic grounding in qualitative and quantitative research methods to state of the art techniques for experienced researchers.

All courses run for a full week.

ACSPRI Programs have earned a high reputation for presenting a practical and applied approach to research methods and data analysis, promoting hands-on learning opportunities, and using highly skilled and experienced instructors from around Australia and overseas.
