Building metadata management workflows using the Aristotle Metadata Registry (Samuel Spencer, Lauren Eickhorst)
Many tools for metadata management require desktop installation that can cause issues in restricted IT environments. Desktop tools also restrict the ability for data curators to collaborate on information management resources. In this workshop, we cover a basic introduction on use of the Aristotle Metadata Registry - an online, open source metadata registry that provides a complete metadata authoring environment as well as collaboration, publication and endorsement workflows all through a standard web browser.
During this workshop students will gain knowledge in how to:
* Create a data organization with the Aristotle Metadata Registry
* Build a basic data dictionary
* Document data assets
* Create reusable metadata items, such as concepts, variables and code lists
* Create basic metadata quality rules
* Download a codebook for a project
* Export metadata in a variety of standards
